Who knew you could add all sorts of calendars to your iPhone calendar? You name it, iCal World – courtesy of BGR) has it. Plus, it’s really easy to populate your calendar – with everything from US Holidays to movie releases or even something obscure, such as The Broom Street Theatre schedule. It looks like they have thousands of calendars from which you can choose to subscribe.
So, how do you do it? Start by opening Safari on your iPhone and go to iCal World Their Web site is not really optimized for the iPhone, so you may want to dig around for calendars from your home computer ahead of time. However, subscribe to your choices using the iPhone Browser. It’s easy to do this. Just click on the link of the calendar you choose and your iPhone will prompt you to subscribe. Click “subscribe” and that’s it! When you open up a calendar on your iPhone, at the bottom of the main screen, you will see a new section called “subscribed.” It should contain the calendars you’ve subscribed to. I think it resides within its own calendar (not populated among your other calendars, like home or work).
One note: if you want to see all your calendars merged, you will need to select “All Calendars” for viewing. I haven’t yet found a way to delete a calendar subscription. I’ll update how I did it when I find out.
