Blancspot is a cool news app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that captures the world’s news in a different way. While many news apps are mere readers of sorts, Blancspot creates an environment that literally captures the essence of the story through professional photography and music.

As the photos zoom in slowly on the screen, they almost create a video-like image. Coupled with background music and small captions, the stories really come to life in the palm of your hand. You can scroll through stories by swiping the screen or let them change on their own. Pressing a little arrow in the bottom right corner brings up the full story. You can access other features by tapping the screen to bring up the top menu.
